D'un beau rouge intense.
Aux senteurs de petits fruits rouges mûrs, d'épices noires, de poivre et de chocolat.
Équilibré avec des tanins veloutés.

Deuxième récolte d’Aurelio, ce vin est né comme un hommage à la Maremme, nommée d’après la route qui traverse la côte, Via Aurelia.
Les raisins sont issus d'un terroir dans la région de Poggio la Mozza dans le Grosseto, maigre, en grès de quartz feldspathique, assez caillouteux.
Contact prolongé avec la peau du raisin pendant la vinification. Fermentation dans des cuves en acier à 25°C en moyenne. Macération pendant 15 jours, suivie d'un élevage en barrique pendant 12 mois, puis de 6 mois en bouteille.

Dried herbs, black cherries, olive stones, blackcurrants and bay leaves on the nose. Full-bodied with firm, chewy tannins. I like the salty undertones to the black fruit and herbs. Drink or hold.

This is a full-bodied red wine with lots of generous cherry and plum. The Val delle Rose 2018 Maremma Toscana Rosso Aurelio is almost all Merlot that is cut with a small 5% element of Cabernet Franc that adds aromatic focus and intensity to the bouquet. This 20,000-bottle production sees an easy 12 months in French oak, and there is a good amount of savory spice and campfire ash to follow. Pretty medicinal or menthol notes appear on second nose and liven things up considerably. - Monica Larner

Smoky and metallic like a just-fired gun, the nose on this wine also offers spicy, hot notes of pepper and grilled meat. The palate remains fiery with smoke, pepper and heat that celebrate crunchy fresh red fruit—all of which stand up to tightly wound tannins. — Danielle Callegari
